Construction is complete for a new residence located on a quirky triangular site in North Sunshine Beach. An existing shack on the site was much loved by its owners of the last 30 years, and we’ve captured some of its laid back charm in this new home.
As with all our projects the key influences of the design are the site, climate comfort and views, economy, longevity and minimal maintenance requirements of the materials, low energy requirements and integration with the landscape.

By keeping the design compliant with the regulations of the residential house code and working with development criteria instead of fighting them, the project was not subject to a lengthy and costly Development Approval, only requiring a quick BA process
Due to the small and challenging site shape all of the property is utilized often having multiple uses, such as the grassy driveway doubles as a play area
The exposed structure creates a sheltering canopy which frames the views from inside and hugs the hillside from the outside
